Regular Service Train
Last regular steam service train were operated for
the sectors of Bago-Nyaung Khar Shay and Nyaung Lay Bin-Madauk.
But they have finished in 2003. Today, only charter
train are available for steam enthusiasts.
Steam Special
Nevertheless, Ministry of Mining No.(1) still
operates narrow guage steam loco at Namtu-Bawdwin area
in Northern Shan State where crude are carried by
steam-loco and electric loco from silver mine
underground shaft (Originally built in 1927 for Burma
Mining Corporation) to the warehouse.
Our Service
Due to the amount of time and work to arrange this
unique tour, clients and tour operator are kindly
requested to make booking 3 months in advance and to
share the cost to charter steam loco and carriages etc,
participants of the tour should be at least 7 persons.
Price will obviously be higher for a group of less than
7.
We can arrange from one day Yangon circular steam tour
by charter S.T to longer trip of Yangon-Mandalay (or)
Yangon-Maulmein-Death railway in the South. Besides,
steam rail tour can be conbined with sightseeing at
Bangan, Mandalay , Maulmein, Golden Rock and Prome.
