15 Days Best of Burma (with Ayeyarwaddy River Cruise)

Day (1) Yangon Arrival. Welcome by your guide and transfer to Traders Hotel. Visit Shwedagon (largest Pagoda in the world), Karaweik (Royal Berg), Reclining Buddha, Down Town area etc. Overnight in Yangon.

Day (2) Drive to Golden Rock Pagoda base camp via Bago (capital of 2 nd Myanmar Empire). From base camp drive to the middle camp by open truck (1 hr). Finally 45 minute walk along the path to your hotel. Explore Golden Rock Pagoda . O/N on the mountain: Mountain Top hotel (or) Kyaikhto hotel.

Day (3) Descend the mountain and drive back to Yangon. On the way, S/S in Bago(Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Reclining Buddha, Kanbawzathardi Palace). O/N in Yangon.

Day (4) Fly to Mandalay (last capital of Myanmar Kingdom in late 9 th century) Visit Amapura's most famous U Bein teak foot bridge, monastery with 900 Buddhist monks, silk weaving factory. Trasfer to Sedona hotel and visit Kuthodaw Pagoda (known as world biggest book), Shwenandaw Monastery noted for its amazing wood carving, Mandalay Palace and Mandalay hill to enjoy sunset over Mandalay. O/N Mandalay.

Day(5) Visit Mingun village which is located on the Western side of Ayeyarwaddy River by charter boat. Explore unfinished Pagoda, Mingun Bell (2nd largest bell in the world), Queen Sinbyume memorial Pagoda. Return to Mandalay by boat then drive to Sagaing. Sightseeing in Sagaing includes Kaung Hmudaw Zedi, Silversmith workshop, Sagaing Hil. Drive back to Mandalay. O/N Mandalay.

Day (6) Wholeday Mandalay sightseeing which include a visit to Zegyo central market, craftman workshop such as gold leaf making, wood carving, marble carving., puppet and tapestry workshop, bronze casting foundry etc. O/N Mandalay.

Day(7) Early morning transfer to jetty to take a boat trip (8 hr) along legendary River Ayeyarwaddy to Bagan (richest archeological site in South East Asia). Enjoy sunset over Bagan from the top of a zedi. O/N at Bagam hotel (or) Tharaba hotel.

Day (8) Wholeday S/S in Bagan to include most of the famous temples in Bagan among 2000 religious monuments. Visit Bagan local market, lacquerware factory, Taung Bi village where you can see hand made cottage noddle factory. O/N in Bagan

Day (9) Drive (1:30 hr) to Mt.Popa which is extint volcano and is believed as a home of 37 spirit gods or Nats.
Then drive (2 hr) to Sale. Visit Yoke Son monastery (the most beautiful woodcarving building in Myanmar. ) Return to Baga. O/N Bagan

Day (10) Fly to Heho. Transfer to Nyaung Shwe the nearest town to Inle Lake . Then transfer to hotel on the lake by boat. Halfday S/S on the Lake.

Day(11) Sightseeing on the lake starts with a visit to a market, silversmith workshop, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda on the island, monastery with antique Buddha Images, floating gardens, silk weaving factory (handmade) etc. O/N on the lake, GIC hotel.

Day (12) Drive to Pindaya (4 hr). Transfer to Conqueror hotel. Visit Pindaya Cave, Parasole workshop, bamboo hat workshop, Pindaya Market. O/N Pindaya

Day (13) Dirve to Kalaw (former British hill station) . Transfer to Hill Top Villa (or) Pine Hill Resort Hotel. Halfday trekking to a village where you can see PaLaung ethnic tribe and their tea plantation on the mountain terraces. O/N Kalaw.

Day (14) Fly to Yangon . Transfer to Traders hotel . Visit historic Strand hotel, Yangon River, hand made glass factory, Colonial building, shopping at famous Bogyoke market and visit Gem Museum. O/N Yangon.

Day (15) Transfer to Yangon Int'l airport for your departure.
